I went to Slovakia some years ago, and I remember the good food I got in the country. Especially the steamed buns, which I will try to make thanks to your recipe. I read throught the recipes, and I noticed a couple of things that would make me unsure about how to cook the food myself: It seems like the recipe of Nut Rolls misses the instruction about how to make the nut mixture. Also, in the recipe of Žemľovka it is stated that it is made from bread and apples, but there is no mentioning of apples in the recipe. Hi. She mentioned something about basically bread balls in milk. Do you have any clue what that might be? It is my favourite and I always miss it when I travel. ;) If you can, buy it from the brand called Hellmans, that one is the best. For those who haven't tried it yet. In its consistency it is similar to Tartar sauce, but it is much more tasty. Basically, it is mayonesse with onion, sour pickle (cucumber), a bit of mustard, salt, pepper (bit of sugar and vinegar). They used some sort of mayonnaise dressing with some flavour in it that was sensational. All my friends were mad about it. Live in Ireland and there are lots of Eastern European food shops but I don't know the name of the sauce. I obviously have too much time on my hands!!
