My grandfather John George Bohach was raised in this area and\
I am trying to gather any information i can about my ancestors- Although he was born in Mt. Plesant Pennsylvania, USA in 1894 he and his parents returned to this area where he was raised – served in WW1 in some European army and returned to the USA around 1920 settling in the Pittsburg Pa area – He married in this area and had a daughter Helen who is still alive and in her early 90’s – I’m not sure of my grandmother’s maiden name but sh was from the same area She was also named Helen – Any information would be helpful

It’s about 1 km = 10-15 minutes of walking. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm, during this time also a guide is available for a small fee (less than 1 eur).

I would like to know the time it takes to walk from the main bus station to St Elizabeth Cathedral and also on midweek days what time is the Cathedral open to tourists to visit in January please.

Firstly, thank you very much for all this coherent data. I appreciate your work.
I´m a Slovakian from Košice who currently resides in the U.S. I have some friends willing to visit Košice and so I found this great web-page.

I would like to know a bit about the process of updating your data. How often do you update this site?

Having been looking through the good work I can certainly see here, I have some suggestions that should help you. There are certainly more 4 star hotels in the accommodation section (since several months ago Doubletree by Hilton for example). And another improvement that could make both your team and the city of Košice more representative is a spell-check. The “Low Academy” (2nd paragraph) was supposed to be the “Law Academy”, I believe. Or was it really such a low-grade place? :)

Polov is only 7 km faraway from Košice. It might be good weather during August or Septemer, so you can do everything what is in you mind. Enjoy your trip.

My mother came from the town of Polov 90 years ago. I would love to visit her town and check on other relatives. How far is Polov from Kosice? Do you have any suggestions that would be helpful for my trip which I would like to take in August or early September.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am very glad Slovakia has good name over the world. And this webside is good as well, there are many usefull informations for our friends from the world. But one thing is missing here very much…photos. There are many beautifull places and cities in Slovakia, wanderfull nature, castles and buildings they can say much more then hundrieds words. I thing the visitors want to see something pictures before they comm for trip to Slovakia. Thank you. And I wish you nice day. Michal
