Otherwise you would have to leave Slovakia. Definitely, ask for the extension and explain why you need it. Otherwise you would have to leave Slovakia.

I am married to a slovak and we have been living in the states for 12 years as I am american. I have been in Slovakia for 1 month and I am applying for permanent residency in SR. I am still waiting on my FBI fingerprints from the states which has taken them much longer than they promised. I am 30 days into my allowable 90 days in the EU. I suspect that i will have my fingerprints next week so i can officially apply. If the process takes 90 days will I have to leave SR or is their an extension I can apply for since the total time in SR will then be around 120 days? Thank you, Jay Hello,

So, unless there are other circumstances (I don't know where you are from, etc.), you have the right to be here in Slovakia for 90 days in every 6 months. I would recommend to contact the authorities handling your permanent residence to help you. The residence permit of one EU country is not a residence permit for every country in EU. Some say it's 90 days per year, some- that it's 90 days per any 6 months, and it's quite difficult to find the right answer. The thing is we moved to Slovakia with my husband, and now I'm waiting for Slovak residence permit, and I have used almost 90 days of stay here. My Swedish residence permit is issued November 9, so does it mean that after November 9 I will be able to stay up to 90 more days in Slovakia without a residence permit? Thank you in advance B.r. Hi,
